14 June Coomacarrea Horseshoe. (An Tráigh [OSI], 'the strand'.) Coomacarrea is the 59th highest summit in Ireland. On a good day there are fabulous views of the Dingle, Beara, and the rest of the Iveragh Peninsulas. Josie

Easy but long hike
12 July Near Lauragh on the Beara Peninsula, Co. Cork. The abandoned town of Cummingeera, at the base of a cliff in a wild, remote valley. The walk to the village gives you a taste for the rough beauty of the Caha Mountains. There are also Standing Stones on one of the cliffs. We will take in the horseshoe on the heights. Josie
